You don’t have to be a top chef to make meatballs. Just follow the steps in this recipe, and you’ll have the perfect pasta accompaniment in no time.
Step 1: Beat egg
Lightly beat the egg.
Step 2: Make bread crumbs
Tear the roll into pieces and pulse it in the food processor until you have fine breadcrumbs. Then toss them in the bowl with 1/3 cup water.
Tip
Substitute bread crumbs if you prefer.
Step 3: Add ingredients
Add the ground beef, egg, 1 teaspoon of the garlic, 2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 3/4 teaspoon of the oregano, mixing until everything is combined. Then form the mixture into meatballs.
Step 4: Brown meatballs
Heat the oil in a heavy pot over medium-high heat, swirling it around to coat the pot. Then add the meatballs, cooking them until they’re browned, and turning them occasionally.
Step 5: Make sauce
Break up the whole tomatoes and add them, with the crushed tomatoes, to the pot. Add the remaining garlic and oregano, along with a pinch of sugar, and season the sauce with salt and pepper.
Step 6: Cook meatballs and sauce
Bring the sauce to a boil, and then reduce the heat for a rapid simmer. Cook the meatballs in the sauce for 15 minutes, until they’re cooked through. Enjoy over the pasta of your choice.
Did You Know?
According to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, over a 20-year period, the average portion size for spaghetti and meatballs went from 1 cup spaghetti with sauce and three small meatballs to 2 cups spaghetti with sauce and three large meatballs — a difference of 525 calories.

Iam trying to make the meatballs but where does using the oven come
in..lol…oh lord. XD
pre heat the oven ONCE,and re-view TWICE the video, to see when to put the
meatballs into the oven, otherwise turn it off.
LOL – I made it 37 seconds into the video. “simple” = a laundry list of
ingredients? – Never mind then.
Sorry to say everyone here was trapped. He put the preheat oven step in the
video on purpose. Now many people have watched this video over and over
wondering what the hell, and some, who might not have done so otherwise,
did the unthinkable…….. They subscribed. Don’t feel bad it got me too,
I watched this video twice wondering why the damn oven was preheated. If
you are one of those who did subscribe or tried the recipe and turned on
the oven then you should feel bad. You’ve been had.
Should I go outside and crank my lawn mower and leave it running?
That’s disgusting! All that oregano? Why? YUCK
Must be a cold kitchen without heat…. Using the OVEN to heat the kitchen
is a great IDEA!!
Meatballs came out kinda weird shaped. Maybe I needed to pre heat my oven
so why did you have to preheat the oven for? lol
OK…my oven is on. When do I turn it off?
how long does it go for like how many minutes
why pre-heat the oven?
I preheated the oven just to sweat my ass off? Why preheat the oven?
I made this last month this month when i saw my electricity bills i
realised that… MAKING MEATBALLS REQUIRE LOADS OF MONEY
ok……. what was the oven for?
taking aside the oven thing, the dish is coming out great, thanks for the
video
Hahaha I watched it about 5 times thinking I missed when to put them in the
oven…… Glad I’m not the only one.
glad I checked the comments I though he forgot to mention the oven part.
Did anyone notice that the oven was never used? I had to watch this twice
going “What do I do with the oven now that I’ve preheated it??”
that looks really cheap and lousy
