These noodle-like Sev are so tasty that when you start munching, it’s often difficult to stop.
Ingredients
2 cups besan (gram flour)
1 teaspoon carom seeds crushed (ajwain)
1-1/2 salt
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder, adjust to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon asafetida (hing)
3 tablespoons oil
Approx. 1/2 cup lukewarm water
Oil to fry
Also need sev maker

Could you use a spaghetti press for the maker?
Ymmm….crunchy, savory taste to the Besan Sev, looks complicated but after

can this be made sweet or is it always savory?
I checked and the sev makers are sold on amazon.com between $20 and $25.
My friend gave me a sev sancha as a gift and now I can use it at last!

Anyone make this using something other than besan? I’m allergic but love
this. If you don’t have the mould, you can use a sieve, but a mould is
easier. Also useful because you can make other stuff like chakri and papdi.

is very yummy.
