Apricot Crumble
Food Ingredients:
500 grams apricots 1 tablespoon brandy 2 tablespoons sugar (caster) 1 teaspoon golden syrup teaspoon cinnamon, ground 1 teaspoon lemon juice cup water cup flour, self-raising 100 grams unsalted butter 3 tablespoons coconut 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon almonds, ground
Recipe preparation:
1 Split apricots in half, discard stone and place in a buttered pie dish with sugar, treacle, brandy, lemon juice, water, cinnamon. 2 *TOPPING:Rub butter into flour until mixture is crumbly, add brown sugar, almonds and coconut. Mix to a crumbly consistency. 3 Sprinkle mixture evenly over apricots. 4 Bake about 1/2 hour in a moderate oven (350F/190C) until lightly browned. Cooking time varies with depth of fruit and crumble. 5 If you like a lot of crumble, double topping ingredients. 6 Other fruits such as plums, rhubarb or apples may be used.
