Falafel Sliders with Avocado Hummus
Serves 4
Make-Ahead Tip:
Uncooked Falafel Sliders can be made in advance and kept refrigerated until ready to cook. Tahini Sauce can be made in advance and kept refrigerated.
FALAFEL SLIDERS
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained, divided
½ red onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, quartered
5 sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, drained
½ cup packed fresh Italian parsley
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ cup garbanzo flour (or other flour of choice)
2 tablespoons olive oil
AVOCADO HUMMUS
¼ cup chickpeas, reserved from sliders
1 avocado, pitted and peeled
1/3 cup packed fresh Italian parsley
¼ cup olive oil
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon cayenne
TAHINI SAUCE
½ cup tahini
½ cup water
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon salt
14 mini buns or dinner rolls sliced in half, toasted
2 small tomatoes, thinly sliced
To make the Falafel Sliders: Reserve ¼ cup chickpeas for the Avocado Hummus. Place remaining chickpeas, onions, garlic, tomatoes, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and flour in a food processor and pulse until combined, stopping frequently to scrape down sides. Using the palms of your hands, form mixture into 2-inch by ½-inch patties.
In a large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and pan-fry patties in batches, letting cook about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, until nicely browned. Do not crowd the pan. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels.
To make the Avocado Hummus: Combine ¼ cup chickpeas, avocado, parsley, oil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and cayenne in food processor and puree. Adjust seasoning to taste.
To make the Tahini Sauce: Puree tahini, water, garlic, lemon juice, and salt until smooth.
To serve: Layer the Falafel Sliders, Avocado Hummus, Tahini Sauce, and sliced tomato on the buns.

Just found out the hard way that a food processor, and a blender are two
VERY different things.
Avocado, sesame and olive oil are healthy fats that benefit your heart and
even promotes weight loss. By all means, you go ahead and use absolutely
zero fats and carbs but refrain from making uneducated judgements about
ingredients which you obviously have no knowledge about.
I dunno about that avocado hummus D:
Made this. My fave burger yum
Sorry but why care about the fat in your dressing, when you used a ton of
oil frying the sliders? Also, the sesame seeds have a lot of fat in them
as well. In 100g of Tahini it is 54g of Fat, so a little over half of it is
fat.
If your wanting to make it low fat, you can just brush on the non-stick
pan, you don’t need a lot of oil to brown it, which a good non-stick pan
will do that work without all that oil.
To make the tahini without so much sesame, you can use a a little of the
guacamole, not much and and light drizzle of the tahini sauce. That way you
get a little flavour of the tahini without using that much.
Why I like to do is have it on the side not added on top. Then I just dip
it lightly before every bite. You get the flavour and using a lot less of
the sauce. Also a really nice sauce to add to the burger is a sweet chili
(Vegan of course). Normally little to no added fat. AND you can also have
it served in lettuce wraps without the bread.
Just have to comment that I just made this and it turned out so good! Even
my non-vegan family liked it!
i made it, it turned out too soft
dont cook with olive oil!!! omg why!!! LOW MELTING POINTS!!!
this bitch not only sounds fucking retarded, but also looks retarded. I
wonder if she likes anal though
All of you talking about how much fat there is in these are aware that
there are many types of fat. The two main ones being the fat that consumed
in large quantities can be very unhealthy and cause weight gain (this is
the fat she said was NOT included in these FYI). And the other is fat that
can help give you more energy, help burn body fat, and even help lose
weight (this is the fat that’s included in these). Also meats, especially
beef, would have WAY more fat that can be dangerous to eat in the meat
alone than in one of these fully vegan sliders!
That burger has me seriously considering going vegan… Looks so tasty.
Omg my mouth is watering just looking at the ingredients come together. So
gonna try this
She so frickin cute! And the food is awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmme
Oooh I love this recipe being a vegan can be hard when it comes to food but
the food that vegans like us eat it’s pretty good
how high did you have the flame when frying the patties? Every time I pan
fry things I must have the flame too high. Never turns out right. Smoke
everywhere, burnt edges. But yeah, this recipe is full of fat. Love the
tahini recipe…”NO FAT!” hahaha over have of what you put in was pure
fat…. lmao
I made them and I swear Im in loveeee
Two things that I have learned. #1, Vegans and Vegetarians are douches and
#2 this recipe sounds great.
And… she is beyond cute… she is one of the extremely rare caste of
women that I call ‘enticing’. One of those women that can alter your breath
and steal a piece of your brain for as long as she looks at you and makes
the breath stops when they stare… haha.
Thanks you! This recipe is amazing! I used it last week and everyone loved
it 😀 All the non vegan people asked me how non meat food could taste this
good haha :D
Hahaaha the dudes at the end only tried it because shes super hot
