You NEVER wash mushrooms. They are like a sponge and will soak up all the water and make your food runny. Always wipe over with a damp cloth to get the dirt off or peel the skin off which is a shame cause vitamins are in the skin.

Oh man…NEVER wash mushrooms directly in water. If they are really dirty, use a damp towel to scrub them. Mushrooms soak up liquid like crazy and if you run them under water they become mushy.
