These Cranberry Orange Pistachio Crumb Bars are perfect on a holiday dessert table. They have a bottom layer of sweetened short crust pastry, that’s topped with a cranberry orange marmalade layer and a crumbly pistachio crumb on top. They have the flavor of a specialty pie, in a more convenient, easy to serve cookie bar. And because these bars are typically served in a smaller serving size than the other holiday cakes and pies you won’t totally wreck your healthy plan if you indulge in this one after the holiday meal.

(continued) When I can’t get GF Bisquick, as a cup for cup replacement I
normally use: 2/3 cup rice flour 1/3 cup potato starch ½ tsp baking soda 1
tsp baking powder 1 tsp xanthan gum 1 tsp sugar ¼ tsp salt In an effort of
full disclosure, I have tested this mixture in only some of the published
recipes so although I’m confident it will work, I can’t guarantee it. I
hope this helps.
They look great. Perfect for the holidays to surprise your guests and
family. 🙂
Thanks Vincent. I appreciate you checking it out.
What is in gluten free buisquick? I don’t think they sell it in Canada. I
really want to make these… They look so good. I can get all types of gf
flours and flour blends.
Bisquick is a pancake and baking mix made by the Betty Crocker company in
the US. The ingredients listed on the box are: Rice flour, sugar, leavening
(baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate) Modified
Potato Starch, salt, xanthan gum (in that order) My advice would be to try
another gluten free self rising baking mix that might be advertised as a
pancake or biscuit mix. (continued…)
Thank you Khadija. I appreciate you stopping by.
These look great , are they sweet , or tart ,- I have a problem finding
your uploads i see them on my emails but not the YT upload windows , have
to find you on my Sub lists . My page name is changed now from mrmrtiki.
Another beautiful and creative recipe from you – I just love it! I’m not
gluten free but love how you use Bisquick and bought a box of the regular
in your honoiur this weekend. Am planning to make this recipe.
You have the BEST RECIPES!!!! I am going to make this one for Thanksgiving.
Can’t wait.
Thanks Brenda, I hope the wheat cranberry bread turns out well. You’re such
a great baker. Actually you’re an awesome cook too. Everything you make
looks incredible. I wish I was your neighbor.lol
Wow these sound amazing…. I LOVE pistachios :))
Thanks so much Regina. Try to make these at least a day ahead so they’ll
have plenty of time to chill. Then they will be really easy to cut.
Omg I’ve been missing out on your channel…I just checked it out and fell
in love. Keep up the great work. This looks delish!
I buy the GF Bisquick right in my regular supermarket where they also sell
the regular variety. I know that you can but it at amazon.com too. I also
wanted to let you know that I listed some suggestions for replacing gf
bisquick in a response to a comment on this thread below. I hope this
helps.
Hi Garnett, these are pretty tart because of the fresh cranberries but
there’s enough sugar and marmalade in the recipe to make them sweet enough.
And I haven’t seen your videos in the YT window either. I don’t know if I
just missed the name change or if it’s YT. Also, my avatar is new so you
could be missing my videos because it is not familiar. Who ever knows with
youtube.
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. That Chipotle Cranberry Compote you
posted on your channel looks fantastic as well.
I might as well have cut them into 3 or 4 pieces considering how many of
the smaller ones I ate. If I don’t stop testing out these holiday recipes,
I won’t fit into any of my holiday clothing. Hope you have a fantastic day.
Thanks so much! Looking forward to more videos from you 🙂
