Making pie dough by hand gives apple pie a light and crisp homemade crust. There’s nothing the smell of fresh apples baking in the oven in that lovely pastry! Making recipes with apples really gets me into the fall baking mode, especially when thinking about easy Thanksgiving desserts. Thanksgiving is not complete unless you make homemade apple pie! With homemade pie crust, fresh apples, apple pie spices (cinnamon & nutmeg) and homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, you’ll make the best apple pie ever! No canned apple pie filling with premade crust again! It’s so simple to make easy Thanksgiving desserts with apples! I sometimes make apple crumble or apple crisp or an apple cobbler or apple strudel. I have an old fashioned apple cake recipe, that is really good! My Hub loves apple turnovers and apple tarts, but his favorite is this good old fashioned American apple pie recipe, so sometimes I make him some apple hand pies or mini apple pies. I hope you like it too! Some quick and easy pie recipes for Christmas and Thanksgiving desserts include my pumpkin pie recipe, pumpkin pecan pie recipe (FAB!), pecan pie and sweet potato pie, which are all traditional holiday pie recipes. My father-in-law love those recipes too, but he adores my strawberry rhubarb pie recipe, which I modeled after his wife’s, so that might show up on the holiday table too. Strawberries and rhubarb are spring and summer fruits, but it’s one of his favorite desserts, so I aim to please!
So go buy some fresh red delicious apples and some McIntosh apples, so you can show everyone that you learned how to make the world’s best apple pie! Well, in my world it’s pretty darn good, so I hope you like it too! 😉

to make a tortilla apple pie. There is a reason why I would love for you to
