Greetings! Let’s use up that leftover turkey from Thanksgiving! I still have the carcass in the freezer and plan on making some good turkey soup after the new year, but now lets use up all that good meat and a wing and a leg and make some turkey stew in the crockpot!
I had made some good stock with the neck the gizzard and some veggies while I roasted the turkey and let that pot sit in the fridge so I could skim the solid fat off of it. I strained that right into the crock and put all the meat in there and put the wing and a whole leg in tact in there to lend good flavor to the stew. I threw in a few stalks of celery and few carrots and an onion that I rough chopped. Added in some Jane’s crazy mixed up salt and put on the lid set the crock pot to high and let that stew for a few hours, then I turned the crock pot down to low until I was ready to add in some homemade noodles.
I made my own noodles, which thickened up the stew nicely. You can add a can of cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup and a bag of regular egg noodles if you like and just cook until they are tender. About 30 minutes.
You could leave out the noodles and thicken the stew with some creamed soup, some flour and water or some corn starch and water slurry. Serve over some noodles, rice, potatoes, corn bread or biscuits and you’ll have a hearty delicious meal that took little time, effort, money or ingredients to put together and it cooks itself!
This dish is perfect for using up turkey leftovers and it is also perfect for those busy nights around this time of year when you are trotting off to chorus concerts, band concerts, Christmas pageant and living nativity’s etc. This way you have a nice meal before you are off or after you return from all those fun holiday events.
I hope you will give this a try and I hope you love it!
Happy Holidays!

I love Jane’s Krazy salt. I really like that it doesn’t have MSG too.
Thanks for the recipe, now I want some of that stew. :)
this looks so yummy…i am making a turkey stew from what my husband
“kindly” left us which is not much but i am definitely going to make it
work.I already made some turkey salad out of it last night.
It is a very good idea to thoroughly wash veggies and fruit before eating.
Nice Idea, Here’s My Turkey Leftover Recipe. 🙂

question bout carrots I notice if I don’t peel my carrots when I cook them
long time the skin comes off. Is this just me or?? I notice you didnt peel
your carrots.
Looks really good! Could or would you use a Lodge dutch oven pot on the
stovetop for the same recipe? Before I invest money into the Lodge iron
cook sets, I want to know its versatile. I know you like non-teflon.
I made white turkey chilli enchiladas with our leftover turkey.
Looks really good Noreen. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Looks yummy. Got an idea: instead of adding the noodles, add some biscuit
dough/dumplings to the top and let it simmer, just like chicken and
dumplings.
Looks sooooo good! :-p
That looks so good!I want some lol.
oh this looks great
i’m new to your channel, do you have video on how to make stocks, like
chicken, turkey etc.?
Our Thanksgiving was in October and I still have one container of deboned
turkey meat packed in broth in the freezer. That is usually what I do after
a big meal of turkey, I take all the meat off the bones, make stock with
some chunked up veggies for flavour. When broth cools I add the meat back
into it and freeze in ziploc screw on lid containers. That way when I have a
hankering for turkey, I can thaw out 1 of those containers& make stew, soup
or hot turkey sandwiches from it.
I did One Pot Thanksgiving… It was kinda a bust but I don’t think eating
Turkey can be cooked wrong.. I love the Fall..
Yes! And in today’s economy, every extra meal counts. I’ll be watching your
video on the homemade noodles. I don’t think they take long to actually
cook, so I’ll be adding mine towards the very end.
Love your video’s.. Just have to ask.. Why do you never taste it on
camera..You fix us a plate..:) Would love to see you or Rick take a bite…
Just asking
good ideas, I have a bunch of turkey to use up. Think I’ll try this. And
the husband is hilarious as usual!
Not only does that look good, but it looks like it is budget friendly. I
love the videos Noreen keep them comming. Oh and I don’t think you are
strange only liking the white meat of the Turkey. I am the same way lol.
I love homestyle ‘comfort food’ cooking, such as this recipe 🙂
that look great, makes me hungry. tfs. Donna:-) 🙂
Gee that looks really good…My leftover turkey awaits!
looks SO good!
im with you… im the only person in my house that likes white meat..they
all want the dark..
