Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe for your Red Velvet Cupcakes!

Red Velvet Cupcakes:

Lemon Chiffon Angel Food Cupcakes:
Vanilla Cupcakes:
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting:
Lemon Buttercream:

– 8 oz of softened cream cheese
– 2 oz of unsalted butter, room temperature
– 1 tsp of vanilla extract
– 2 cups of powdered sugar
– a pinch of salt

note* When I’m making frosting, I like to use my paddle attachment more than the whisk attachment because it beats it more smoothly and I typically get better results.


First, in your mixing bowl, add the cream cheese and butter and mix it on medium speed until it’s nice and fluffy. This will take approximately 2 minutes.
Then add the vanilla extract and continue beating it for another minute.
Slowly add the pinch of salt and gradually (bit by bit) the powdered sugar, and continue beating it until everything’s mixed together.

And there you have it, your tangy, sweet, delicious cream cheese frosting. I love this cream cheese frosting best with Red Velvet Cupcakes and I have a video for that too!
